Echinacea & Immune System
The immune system is a host defense system throughout an organism's body that works to prevent and fight infection. According to the University of Rochester Medical Center, the immune system protects your body from invaders and is made up of different organs, cells, and proteins. These invaders are classified as germs (bacteria, fungi), parasites (worms), cells (like cancer), and toxins (chemicals made by microbes). What can you do to boost your immune system and help it fight off invaders?
Echinacea is an herbaceous flowering plant that belongs to the daisy family. It's been long used in medicine to combat cold & flu and strengthen the immune system. Although it's not FDA approved, many studies have been (and continue to be) done regarding its effectiveness in shortening a cold/flu and even decreasing the severity of its symptoms. With the outbreak of the Coronavirus, it's important to take certain measures that will protect and prevent you and your family. Other than taking all the necessary steps to prevention, contributing echinacea to help your immune system is highly recommended.
I've personally been taking echinacea for a couple months now (long before the COVID-19 outbreak) because I tend to get sick whenever I'm around a sick person. I haven't gotten sick since then. I did my research and chose to go with Nature's Way Echinacea from amazon. It's Non-GMO, organic, and contains all three parts of the herb in one small capsule, almost the size of a penny.

Remember, it's not a miracle. It's an herb linked to strengthening the immune system. Maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle is the key. Read more about echinacea here and more public advice on COVID-19 from the World Health Organization here.
Stay safe & healthy!
